CONGRATULATIONS TO CHINESE TEAM THAT IS WORLD CHAMPION WITH ONE ROUND TO GO!
In the penultimate round of the championship Ukrainian players embraced themselves in a tough match against China to score 2.5-1.5. Natalia Zhukova won against Zhao Xue on the third board and all the rest games were drawn. China lost the first match points in the tournament, but... already became a champion!

Good afternoon everyone, let us take a look on what we’re going to see in the penultimate round.
Ukraine, who’s still keeping a hope to get a medal, is playing China, that need to win in order to claim the title before the last round. Not an easy match for both teams, taking to account the psychological pressure.
India needs to get two points versus Georgia to maintain clear second, as Russia’s victory over South Africa is beyond any doubt.

Round 7: China and India remain on top followed by Russia |
China overtook Georgia. Ju Wenjun won against Lela Javakhishvili on the second board and Zhao Xue won against Bela Khotenashvili on the third.
India vs. Greece suddenly was not such a clear match. In the final position of the game the leader of Greek team Elena Dembo had an advantage against Humpy Koneru, but agreed a draw. Two more games were drawn, despite the rating difference. Only a victory of Harika Dronavalli against Marina Makropoulou helped India to take 2 match points.

We can see that you often come to visit WWTC and spend time to watch the games and play yourself. Why do you love chess so much?
I was playing chess when I was a child. So I like it very much. Also I support every kind of sportsmen and students. I would like to say that chess is popular in Mardin and there are many children that are interested in the game.

Welcome to the round 7 of the WWCC in Mardin. With only three rounds left every half a point becomes vital, so we can expect an uncompromised fight on every board. So, pairs for today are:
Armenia vs. Ukraine. Only the winner of this match will get a slight hope to fight for a bronze medal.
Vietnam vs. RSA. For Vietnamese that will be the last match in a favorite’s role, so they’ll try hard.
